New Development to Claim Montrose Garden

The city of Houston put the 8,400 square-foot parcel in the Audubon Place historic district under contract earlier this year with the intention of keeping it a garden. But officials backed out just before the three-month option period ended, the seller's real estate broker says.

Now, a builder has signed an agreement to buy the property known as Greenleaf Gardens and put two "Prairie-style" homes on the site.
