Hiking Trails in Houston with HTXO

December 1, 2018 - 12:30 pm - 2 pm

Memorial Park Tennis Center

1500 E Memorial Loop Dr

Houston, Texas, 77007

After the Memorial Park Fitness Fair https://www.facebook.com/events/898520373674649/

let's get in some fitness!

About the Trail:

We are hiking on an actual trail with hills!  Yes, right here in Houston!  This is not a paved path!  Meeting time is 12:15pm.  We'll leave promptly at 12:30pm.

What to bring:

- Water! Stay hydrated. It is also good practice to hydrate before your activity

- Bug Spray

- Wear long pants

- Wear sturdy shoes that are okay to get muddy

After the hike, we’ll grab something to eat at Canyon Creek!

Dog-Friendly for friendly dogs: Please bring plenty of water for your dog and poop bags!

What happens if it is raining: We do not cancel before the day of the event and then we only cancel if it's dangerous.  If it is raining a little, we will still go but we will alter the route. Hiking on wet trails  cause erosion and is expensive to fix.  Trails are closed after heavy rains.  We will follow the rules for open / closed trails.

Leave No Trace: Please bring a reusable bottle and Put any empty bottles or trash in the garbage cans.

Parking: There is a large parking lot at the running center and parking along the street.  Since this hike is right after the fitness fair, it might be a little crowded but you should still find a spot.  Allow a few extra minutes to find the group.

How to find the Group: Look for the HTXoutdoors and BCO signs. We'll be in grassy area behind the  center so we're not in the way of the cars.

Who is HTXoutdoors?

If you have been looking for a group to explore Houston, do outdoor activities and meet people with similar interests, you have finally found it! We are Houstonians (new, original and somewhere in between) in our 20’s & 30’s and we love the outdoors! With a zest for adventure, we have day trips, weekend trips & international trips.  So if you have 2 weeks of vacation or “unlimited”…you can find new adventures to fit your schedule.

Come out and meet others interested in hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, rock climbing and more!  It’s a good chance to meet each other. It’s an even better chance to plan some adventures.
