Your Thoughts

There are four comments.

Sixty years ago, I visited the Beaconsfield two to three times a week. It was the home/studio of Mrs. John Wesley Graham, the notable voice teacher and coach. The uniformed doorman/elevator operator was always on duty, always stately and courteous. The lobby was beautiful, and I couldn't help but privileged each time I visited the Beaconsfield.

Many times, I have looked through the window to the lobby. It is beautiful! I really like a building to have a fancy lobby. This one almost reminds me of Esperson's lobby because of the mosaic tile floor. They say they still have an elevator operator!

A real surprise to find anything this old and in such good condition in Houston's CBD. It will be more and more a treasure as the empty lots around it are developed. For it to be saved when it was renovated instead of being torn down is fortunate for the whole city.

Built in 1909, this was Houston's original Luxury Highrise. This is a 9 story building; 8 stories are residential and the bottom is commercial.
